It is interesting times to get back out there after so many months of not visiting a restaurant. One of my first opportunities was last week to see a friend for a long-overdue catch-up, so we decided to revised Ragazzi as we enjoyed it the first time just after it opened last year….it didn’t disappoint.
Ragazzi is taking 2 sittings for lunch, the first 12:00 to 1:15, yep just an hour and a quarter, so not long and the second from 1:30, we chose the latter as it enables us to stay longer through the afternoon.
The menu is concise featuring 5 or so snacks, seven kinds of pasta, a few salads with a special or two and the day I visited it was Truffled Gnocchi. I started with the Burrata, Jerusalem artichoke, globe artichoke at $18 very nice indeed and my friend the Beef tartare, sesame, white anchovy, mustard at $9 ea, he needed two as they were quite small, we both followed with the Truffles Gnocchi, and it was delicious, mopped up with fresh sourdough, I can still taste it now!
The Sommelier was extremely helpful and knowledgable on their wine list and steered us well into a beautiful 2016 Monchiero Langhe Nebbiolo, so good it was, that we had another glass.
Ragazzi is a casual, well thought through wine bar with an Italian heritage, very affordable and high in quality, in my view, definitely worth at least 1 visit.
