Who doesn’t like sausage rolls? I am asked to cook this recipe more than any other by my friends, I know you will love them. I choose to make my own mince so I know what's in it, use pork belly and chicken thighs if you do

Ingredients

500 gChicken mince

500 gPork mince

1Onion finely chopped

5Garlic cloves crushed

3 tbs Dried Panko breadcrumbs

1 tbs Tomato sauce

1 tbs Worcestershire sauce

½ tsp. Cumin

¼ bunch Chopped Basil

100ml Cream

Salt

Fresh Ground Pepper

3Egg yolks

6Sheets puff pastry

Method

Combine all ingredients well by hand, except 1 egg.

Slice pastry pieces in half

Place some of the mixture in a plastic bag and cut one corner to make an opening approx. 25mm

Pipe the mixture down the middle of each strip.

Paint some of the egg yolks along the top edge and roll up and seal with milk if necessary. Cut with a pair of scissors into 5 pieces and lay on a tray lined with baking paper.

Paint the remaining egg over the rolls.

Bake at 220C for 25 minutes or until the bottoms are cooked

Serve with my Tomato Chutney
