Amazon Web Services treated over 4,000 of their IT workers to a conference and cocktail party at Sydney’s Playbill Venues. The food and beverage concept for the event was inspired by Australia’s on-the-go favourites – a Food Court Experience. Tom Rutherford researched Australia’s leading and most respected food court brands and engaged each to deliver the event, including: Warren Turnbull’s Chur Burger, Sejuiced, Pie Face and Miss Chu.
Tom’s remit commenced with engagement and negotiations with each brand, briefing each on the delivery requirements at the event. Following this, Tom worked with the chefs to share insight on the operational aspects of delivering over 4,000 meals within a 20-minute period while maintaining restaurant grade presentation; a caterer from the venue’s panel was contracted to further support the delivery of the food.
Delicious meals included:
- Pie Face: Chicken and Mushroom Pie, Tandoori Veg Pie
- Miss Chu: Satay Chicken Vietnamese Baguette, Spinach and Tofu Dumpling, Duck Dumpling
- Chur Burger: Grilled beef burger with cheese, tomato jam, mustard mayo, pickle or a Spiced chickpea fritter with grated beetroot, honey labne
